The aim of this weekend long workshop was to investigate a set of precedents, specifically the Tello House in this case, to the point of investigating our intentions as architects when we use/refer to the term “precedent”.  It calls into question what comes from rehearsing the same conclusions over and over again? Rather than reading the buildings as they pertained to the specificities of authorship, we precisely and serially drew the buildings over and over again, abstracting them and thus removing them from the contexts in which they currently exist, and looked at the buildings in terms of their spatial and formal qualities, thus, affording us the opportunity to read them as something other than themselves.
